najwa_maryamI had one trick-or-treater last night.
One.
I bought lots of good candy ( that I knew David would eat ), carved a jack-o-lantern, played spooky music out into the night, and lit the candles inside the house.
And only one kid came to the door....and he wasn't wearing a costume. :(
So, I threatened him with folklore, that if he didn't have a costume while trick-or-treating then the spirits would get him, and it was very dangerous to go out on All Hallows Eve without a mask or something. He came back after 10 minutes of having no luck in the neighborhood, so I put an eyepatch on him and gave him a plastic sword. I didn't see him again, or anyone else.
Next house we move into, I'm going to research the halloween scene of the neighborhood before signing anything.
