I've been reflecting on my experiences this past weekend at Babalon Puja.

The site itself was completely amazing. There was wild sage growing everywhere and it smelled heavenly. All over the mountains grew nopales, and all weekend long I fantasized cutting some and making a salad for my friends. If it hadn't been illegal I would have.
At night along the beach the crash of the waves right before the swash would yield the most beautiful and psychedelic phosphorescence. The sea shore was at once dark, mysterious, beautiful and dangerous. It was hypnotizing. lapig93 and I watched it endlessly. The beauty made me so thankful and prayerful. Babalon.

There was so much feasting, celebration, and stimulation all the way around.

There were fires, drumming, and dancing. The wine seemed to pour endlessly deep into the night with the songs of praise to Our Lady.

It was a celebration of beauty and abundance.
A brother showed up and said that he couldn't stay the night because he didn't have anything with him. It was truly wonderful to be able to say to him with complete certainty that there was nothing he needed that wasn't already there.

I highly recommend to my friends back home to try to make arrangements to come to this festival next year.
