Hindu Surprise, a recipe by David Hanson
David usually does not do the cooking in this house. It's not because I don't let him, but rather because he says he doesn't like to cook. So, like, if he's starving, and I'm not around to make something for him, he will eat a whole bag of pretzels or turkey jerky. Once when he came home from a quick trip to the store for eggs and milk, he had about 3 bags full of salty snack. But I digress.
Well, tonight he's standing in the kitchen sayin', "I can make Freeto Pie". I don't want to discourage his epicurean adventures, so I holler back "do we have any vegetarian chili","yes! Wait! Lemme surprise ya!".
He came back with what looked like a Stonehenge of Freetos, mounted in a pile of Palak Paneer, of all things. Not only that, but it had this mysterious dollop of sour cream in the middle, and hidden under the sour cream was a hearty splash of El Yucateca (the green stuff) habanero sauce.
It was actually good. I swear to god.
